EUROPE EMPOWERING THE ALGARVE

Documenting the growth of the seeds of democracy

In order to reinforce and bring renewed focus to the competences of CCDR Algarve, I.P. in the fields of culture and agriculture, we planned the development of a multimedia campaign aimed at promoting the transformation of Algarve’s agricultural sector and highlighting key projects within the region’s cultural landscape.

We approached B16 to respond to a particularly demanding challenge, marked by the diversity of the projects and time constraints. A coherent visual identity was developed, ensuring consistency across all produced content.

The outcome materialised in a series of cohesive videos of high technical and narrative quality, clearly, concretely, and engagingly showcasing the work carried out by each project in the Algarve.

Thank you to the B16 creative clan!

The Challenge:

Encapsulate a territory in perpetual motion

Between heritage and production, between memory and future.

Between 2024 and 2025, B16 was challenged to shape 20 documentaries dedicated to projects supported by Portugal 2020, the 2014-2020 RDP, and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, through the actions of CCDR – Algarve.

Cultural initiatives are distributed among inland and coastal municipalities, where heritage is more than memories – it is an active presence. The International Organ Festival of the Algarve or the Castle of Salir reveal a generational continuity that is reinvented, promoting the democratization of access to culture and the territory’s notoriety.

Agricultural companies such as Madrefruta, Frusoal, or Plantalgarve prove the existence of a productive Algarve, where tradition and innovation coexist. A territory where efficient water management, process sustainability, and internationalization are not trends – they are conditions to move forward.

But among these stories, there was an invisible challenge. Dozens of entities, opposing rhythms, scattered geographies. A fragmented system, difficult to align. It was not just one production: it was an entire territory to coordinate.

The Solution:

Consistency as a support for diversity

In an always-changing context, the answer was simple but demanding: consistency. Each story was treated as unique, but never isolated.

In culture, the focus was on what stays – heritage, memory, the symbolic dimension that connects communities to their past and future.

In agriculture, the gaze was different – processes, people, and scale. Efficiency as practice, sustainability as commitment, innovation as common language. Projects that support thousands of jobs and reinforce the role of European funds in the regional economy.

Between these two worlds, the team adapted, reorganized, anticipated, and replied. It was not always linear: that is the price you pay for consistency.

Mostra-o. Torna-o visível. Partilhável.

THE SAMURAI

What was once their battle, now is History.

Bruno Gabriel

"The two video content projects developed for CCDR were a learning experience on multiple levels. Over several months, we produced videos across the Algarve, working directly with the CCDR team. We encountered the realities of the agricultural sector and discovered remarkable cultural projects. CCDR makes strategic investments in the region, and being part of communicating this is a tremendous responsibility. We want more."
